Yes, you heard it all right. Niantic has launched a country-exclusive feature for Indians with the intent to expand its reach (user base) throughout the Indian subcontinent by introducing Hindi support and several in-game bonuses.
It also introduced a plethora of research activities and more surprises to commemorate the special occasion. Given Pokémon Go’s massive popularity among Indians, the announcement received a “big wow” with a good reception from its users.
The company announced the Hindi support in India on Hindi Divas on September 14th. The game is now localized in Hindi. Moreover, with another intent of improving user experience, the company is renaming your favorite Pokemons in Hindi.

Hindi Pokémon Go in India: Details
American software development company popularly known for developing Pokémon Go, Niantic has officially released Pokémon Go in Hindi with the core intent of expanding user engagement in the Indian subcontinent.
The India-focused upgrade also introduced 800 popular Pokémon characters' names converted into Hindi, to provide a more immersive and culturally relevant experience gaming Pokémon Go for its Indian-base.
Aao Khele Pokémon GO India
Starting from yesterday September 16, 2023, Pokémon Go trainers in India will benefit highly from the newly launched special Timed Research, which is planned to last until December 31, 2023, 8 p.m. local time.
The special event is focused on assisting new players as once they complete the assigned objectives, the Timed Research will reward the players with in-game resources such as a variety of Berries, Incense, Poke Balls, and Razz.
The tasks assigned in the Timed Research must be accomplished by Sunday, every weekend by 8 p.m. local time, later on, it shall expire and commence a new one. Competing in the event-themed Field Research objectives will reward them with special encounters:

- Shiny Charmander
- Shiny Squirtle

Niantic and The Pokémon Company certainly went above and beyond to make the campaign even more special for Indian fans by publishing a short movie titled “The Journey of One Dream” in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali.
The short movie narrates a father and child’s story underlining the importance of family bonding and the possibilities of turning aspirations into reality by emphasizing the notion that no goal is too little to achieve.
The company says the film shall touch all age groups as it delivers a bond we all have experienced when our relationships were put to a test due to hurried lifestyles and some decisions.
